A few words from our teachers:
This year I had a lot of students write that their favorite subject is Social Studies and I believe that is because of the South Dakota Road Trip.I have many students who “thank me” after I have finished teaching about a town. They (during Jan.-April) complete a South Dakota ABC Book. Many at the end of the book have an author’s page. This year I had a lot of students write that their favorite subject is Social Studies and I believe that is because of the South Dakota Road Trip. Keep up the excellent work and we (hopefully) look forward to working with you again next year! RoxAnn N.
I love this project, and my kids get such a kick out of moving from place to place.I love having the information about different places in SD at my fingertips. I love this project, and my kids get such a kick out of moving from place to place. I always hear at least one “YES” when I ask the students to take out their Road trip passports! Ha! My 4th grades uses this as part of our SD curriculum to meet the Content Standards for Social Studies, and every bit of information about our state that we can get a hold of is valuable. Keep up the great work! Michele P.
The materials make teaching SD history very easy.I like the flexibility. You can add projects as interested and travel through the towns on your own timeline. Very well done. My students learned so much about their state. The materials make teaching SD history very easy. Thank you. Debra O.
I like how it tied in the South Dakota Social Studies standards and the emphasis on healthy habits. I really enjoyed using this program!!
This was a wonderful experience and all the kids loved it.
